TVS Apache RR 310S Instrument Cluster Is Just Wow

After being spotted umpteen number of times, the Apache RR 310S has now been spotted up close.

The TVS Apache RR 310S gets up-side down forks upfront

Easily one of the most-awaited motorcycles in India is the TVS Apache RR 310S. Termed as the Akula first, then TVS went on to rename this motorcycle as the ‘Apache’ RR 310S that has already been true to TVS’ racing heritage.

The TVS-BMW JV will be bringing out the BMW G310R very soon but before that arrives this motorcycle, the Apache RR 310S. Unlike its competitors Bajaj Auto and KTM, TVS does not have a premium motorcycle in the 200cc plus category. The Apache RR 310S is expected to arrive this July and break that fact.

There’s a lot riding on this motorcycle and TVS continuously testing this product is more than just evident. The TVS Apache RR 310S is a derivative of the BMW G310R, borrowing heavily from the German counterpart. Powering the Apache RR 310S is the same 313cc mill, producing 33.6 HP that comes paired to a 6-speed transmission as in the BMW G310R.

Apart from the engine, the Apache RR 310S also borrows the up-side down front forks, exhaust and the rims from the BMW G310R and this is where the similarities end. While the BMW G310R is a naked street-fighter, the TVS Apache RR 310S is a full-faired sports bike.

The projector headlamps with the LED DRLs make the motorcycle look more upmarket. The full fairing aids in the aerodynamics of the Apache RR 310S while the tall windscreen ensures necessary windblast is cut away. The Apache RR 310S features a full digital vertically stacked instrument cluster that just looks wow and goes well with the motorcycle’s design.

Talking of design, the Apache RR 310S’s design is an inspiration from a Shark’s body design. The bike features a distinctive design for the tail-light which is again an LED unit. Braking duties will be taken care by petal disc brakes both upfront and at the rear and the 310S is expected to get optional ABS. TVS is expected to price the flagship Apache in the Rs. 1.60 – 1.75 lakhs (ex-showroom) range.
