The TVS Apache RR 310S is finally set to be launched in India on the 6th of December 2017!
Yes! You heard that right. TVS is finally set to launch the Apache RR 310S in India on 6th December. After a rigorous wait, TVS fans will have a motorcycle to look forward to in the form of an upgrade. The motorcycle is likely to be named as Apache RR 310 and not Apache RR 310S, as reported before. The commercial launch of the Apache 310 will be hosted in Chennai.
The motorcycle is the first product from the TVS-BMW JV and will go against the likes of the KTM RC 390. The fully-faired Apache is expected to be priced at around Rs. 1.8-2 lakhs (ex-showroom) and at that price point it will also take on the slew of other motorcycles like the Bajaj Dominar 400, Mahindra Mojo and KTM Duke 250. The Apache RR 310 borrows its engine from the BMW G310R and the 313cc single-cylinder motor churns out 34 PS of power and 28 Nm of torque. The powerplant is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Not only the powerplant, the Apache 310 also gets the same suspension, brakes, alloy wheels and exhaust from the G310R. Both the Apache 310 and the BMW G310R are made at TVS’ Hosur facility on a new assembly line, made especially for these motorcycles and will boast of the same quality levels. Talking of the G310R, the naked streetfighter along with its adventure-tourer variant – the G310 GS will be launched in India in the second half of 2018.
TVS and BMW will not overlap with each other in terms of retailing these motorcycles in India. While TVS will sell and service the Apache RR 310 from its own sales network, BMW intends to add the mass market G310R and G310 GS to its nestling but growing dealer network and handle its own sales and service for the motorcycles.
