The TVS Apache RR 310 teaser gives us a first look at the production spec model.
TVS will launch the Apache RR 310 (there is no S after 310 as rumoured earlier) on the 6th of December. The motorcycle was first showcased as the Akula 310 at the 2016 Auto Expo and it has taken TVS 20 months to put this motorcycle on sale.
The TVS Apache RR 310 teaser gives us a good glimpse of the motorcycle in just 10 seconds, we can find the front to be inspired from the Honda CBR600RR Fireblade (old model) and if you show a layman the above image, they might just mistake this bike to be a Honda. Meanwhile, the red colour scheme with white racing stripes is very Ducati like.
The body of the TVS Apache RR 310 has ’35 YEARS OF TVS RACING’ written on the rear side panel while ‘RR 310’ is written on the fairing. ‘TVS RACING’ is engraved on the engine cover with ‘RACESPEC’ written on the frame. TVS is calling this motorcycle ‘Pure Racecraft’.
The TVS Apache RR 310 is loaded with a lot of features, right from twin projector headlamps with LED position lamps, fully digital vertically stacked instrument cluster, inverted Omega LED tail-light, standard ABS and a full fairing. It’s the first TVS motorcycle to get a full fairing, 6-speed gearbox, liquid-cooling, standard ABS, upside down front forks, Michelin Pilot Street tyres and standard fuel injection.
The 313cc single-cylinder mill is the same one that does duty on the BMW G310R where it outputs 34 BHP and 28 Nm, expect a lower tune on the Indian bike. The Apache 310 is expected to be priced at Rs. 1.80 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will compete with the KTM RC 200 till the Austrian bike maker launches the RC 250 early next year.
