The TVS Apache 200 will come with a halogen headlamp with LED DRLs on either side while the bike will be sharing certain bits with the outgoing Apache models.
If you haven’t already, mark the date 20th January on your calendar as the day when TVS will finally pull off all covers from its much talked about Apache 200 motorcycle. While the launch date is out, other details remain skeptical with a bunch of reports only available for reference. Nevertheless, the latest spy shots emerged from Indonesia finally expose something substantial on the flagship TVS which includes the new headlight design, fuel tank cap and instrument console.
The latest images reveal the triangular shaped headlamp structure on the new TVS Apache 200 that is flanked by LED DRLs on either side. Further, a better look of the instrument cluster is now available showing all the essential bits including the tachometer, speedometer, odometer, gear indicator, fuel level indicator among other bits. The console also revealed that the new Apache idles between 1200-1250 RPM, similar to most of its rivals.
Talking about the powertrain, the TVS Apache 200 will be powered by a 200cc single-cylinder air and liquid-cooled engine that is said to be an all-new unit, tuned to produce around 25 HP and 22 Nm of torque. The bike is reported to share several parts with the outgoing Apache series that will help the automaker keep the costs low while a host of new and sophisticated bits will also make it to the model. While there are fatter telescopic forks at the front, a new monoshock setup serves purpose at the rear. Braking performance comes from discs at the front and rear.
Dual channel ABS will also be part of the package on the new TVS Apache 200 as it rivals the KTM Duke 200, Bajaj Pulsar, Mahindra Mojo and the likes in the segment. Interestingly, the automaker is said to have benchmarked the Duke for developing the new Apache and the latter reportedly offers better acceleration, handling and refinement levels over the Austrian offering. Complete details on the Apache 200 and possibly another model will be available in the following weeks.
