The TVS Apache 200 E100 is India’s first ethanol based motorcycle.
TVS has launched India’s first Ethanol based motorcycle, the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100, priced at Rs. 1.2 lakh. Sales of the motorcycle is currently limited to Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka only. This ethanol based motorcycle costs Rs. 9000/- more than the petrol Apache 200.
Equipped with a Twin-Spray-Twin-Port EFI technology, the TVS Apache 200 E100 produces 21 PS of power and a peak torque of 18.1 Nm, while the top speed is 129 km/hr. What’s interesting or maybe a setback is a fact the fuel required to run the Apache 200 E100 is yet to hit the stores as this clean-mobility vehicle doesn’t run on regular petrol! When it does arrive, a litre of ethanol required to run this bike is likely to cost under Rs. 55/- making it a cheaper alternative to both petrol and diesel.
The company’s 4V Ethanol concept was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo held in Delhi. The motorcycle sports a woven ‘Ethanol’ logo to convey what it carries at its heart. The fuel is biodegradable and less toxic when compared to the burning of fossil fuels.
TVS believes that the TVS Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 (long name, phew!) will aid India’s leap towards sustainable future mobility which is pacing towards electric, hybrid and alternative fuels. The Apache is the flagship brand of TVS’ 2-wheeler division and the company claims a sales figure of 3.5 million customers all around the world.
