The TVS Apache 200 ABS has been launched with a price tag of Rs. 1.07 lakhs, available only in carburetted version.
The confusions surrounding the launch of the Apache 200 ABS have finally been answered by TVS. The company has finally launched the ABS variant of the Apache 200 (a reason for TVS fanboys and enthusiasts to rejoice). That said, ABS is available only in the carburetted version of the Apache 200 and not on the fuel-injected variant. Priced at Rs. 1.07 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Apache 200 rivals the Pulsar NS 200 and the upcoming Hero Xtreme 200R.
Unlike its competition, the TVS Apache 200 gets a (proper) dual-channel ABS system. The dual-channel ABS comes with a unique feature called Rear Wheel Lift-off Protection (RLP) which prevents the rear wheel from locking in case of panic braking. Apart from the ABS decal on the front mudguard, there are no other visual differentiators between the standard Apache 200 and the Apache 200 ABS.
Powering the Apache 200 ABS is a 197.75cc single-cylinder motor developing 20.7 BHP of power at 9000 RPM and 18.1 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. The powertrain is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Other underpinnings remain identical to the standard Apache 200.
