Your ride on the TVS Apache just got safer, with the addition of ABS across the range.
TVS has updated its whole RTR range with ABS as standard and has added rear-wheel lift-off protection too. This has been done before the deadline mandated by the government (1st April 2019) to equip all motorcycles above 125cc with ABS. The SuperMoto ABS (which is TVS speak for single-channel ABS) for Apache RTR 160 2V, Apache RTR 160 4V and Apache RTR 180 provides “added safety for the rider, it has been developed with a special algorithm, extensively derived out of a racetrack”, claims TVS.
The Apache RTR 200 4V comes with dual-channel ABS as well as rear wheel lift-off protection (RPL). This offers quick detection and recovery of the wheel lock to aid a superior braking control.
The Apache 160 2V (ABS) now comes with new features such as back-lit speedometer with dial-art, new seats, new handlebar end dampeners and new graphics. The Apache RTR 160 2V, 160 4V and 180 come with single-channel ABS braking system.
The Apache 160 2V comes powered by a 160cc single-cylinder powerplant producing 15 BHP and 13 Nm of torque, with the engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike is priced at Rs. 85,510/- for the front disc and rear drum brake version.
The Apache 160 4V is powered by a 159.7cc powertrain and it puts out 16.1 BHP and 14.8 Nm of torque, with the motor paired to a 5-speed gearbox. It also gets a similar braking system to the 160 2V, front disc and rear drum, and is priced at Rs. 89,785/-.
The Apache RTR 180 is powered by a 177cc engine that churns out 17.3 BHP and 15.5 Nm of torque, matched to a 5-speed gearbox. It now gets a single-channel ABS (the dual-channel ABS model has been discontinued and thus a price reduction of Rs. 4400/- has happened), with disc brakes at both ends, and is priced at Rs. 90,978/-.
The Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by a 197.75cc motor that produces 20.7 BHP and 18.1 Nm of torque, with disc brakes at both ends. It gets dual-channel ABS, with rear wheel lift-off protection (RLP), and is priced at Rs. 1,11,280/- (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
