The much-awaited TVS Akula 310 has been spied testing again, this time in much closer angles and more details. The bike which was spotted testing had full camouflage and Yamaha R15 inspired stepped-seating.
The TVS Akula 310 is one of the most awaited and talked about motorcycle of the year after its reveal in concept form at the 2016 Auto Expo. The seductive fully faired looks and magical technology from none other than BMW has made the bike an instant dream-machine for a novice rider. Now, after a long wait, spy shots of the motorcycle have started to trickle in.
The TVS Akula 310 or as the company calls it, the Apache RTR 300 motorcycle test mule has been spotted doing the rounds somewhere in Tamil Nadu. The fully camouflaged test bike revealed many interesting details about the two-wheeler, such as sharp cuts and curves, aerodynamic extra-long fairing, gorgeous five-spoke alloy wheels and exhaust (carried over from the BMW G310R motorcycle), and bright golden USD forks. The motorcycle looked very close to being put into production, indicating a possible launch early next year.
Furthermore, the foot pegs had a sporty position while the tail-end carries a R15 inspired stepped-seating for pillion. The motorcycle was also equipped with dual projector headlamps having gloss black surroundings. The tail light comprised of full LED lights while the production version of the bike may also feature a tyre hugger. To enhance the sporty pretensions of the bike, the handle-bar is also of the clip-on type. The Akula 310 is powered by a 313cc, single-cylinder engine producing 33.6 HP of power while mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The tuning on the Akula 310 can be a bit different from the specs above as they are from the BMW G310R’s engine, another bike which is being as much awaited. Both the bikes are expected to share the same components as the project is jointly developed by TVS and BMW together. High amount of localisation and relatively small engine size is expected to keep prices of the bike within the reachable limit of the masses, thereby effectively democratising BMW level performance for TVS prices.
