TVS Akula 310 Cluster Gets Vertical Mount, Spied Again [Video]

The TVS Akula 310 will be launched by April 2017, it could be called Apache 315.

The TVS Akula 310 is a bike based on the BMW G310R platform

The TVS Akula 310 will be the first full-faired motorcycle from TVS to be introduced in the country. The Akula 310 was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and could be launched as the Apache 315. The bike was spotted recently undergoing testing near TVS’ Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. The motorcycle was fully camouflaged as it is still in its initial stages of testing. The TVS Akula 310 uses the same 313cc engine as that of the BMW G310R which is also built at TVS’ Hosur plant.

The 313cc engine used in the bike produces 34 BHP of maximum power at 9500 RPM and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7500 RPM. The TVS Akula comes with some premium additions like upside-down forks at the front, a devil-horn shaped tail lamp and a twin headlamp with projectors. The bike spotted in the video looks more of a road focussed machine than a track tool that was showcased at the Auto Expo.

The Akula 310 uses a vertically mounted instrument cluster which is quite unconventional. It is expected to be launched around April-May 2017 and could be possibly priced in the range of Rs. 2 lakhs. When launched, the Akula 310 will compete against the likes of the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha R3.
