TVS Akula 310 (Apache 300) will be a rival to the KTM RC 200 on price, the expected launch is in 2017 with many exciting features.
The TVS Akula 310 concept was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo and will be manufactured in 2017. This motorcycle is reported to be named as TVS Apache 300. Price wise this bike will take on the KTM RC 200 (Rs. 1.69 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi). It means this motorcycle will be cheaper than its BMW sibling, the G310R. The TVS Apache 300 could be priced between Rs. 1.50 to Rs. 1.75 lakhs.
The Apache 300 will be made at the dedicated TVS plant which is developed as a part of technology co-operation agreement between TVS and BMW. The bike has already reached the final stage of testing, and both the motorcycles are expected to launch in India in the first quarter of 2017.
The TVS Apache 300 is powered by BMW G310R’s 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This engine develops 34 BHP power at 9500 RPM and 28 Nm torque at 7500 RPM, paired with a 6-speed transmission. TVS could give the Apache 300 slightly different output than the G310R. The motorcycle gets some key features like a tall windshield, upside-down front forks, monoshock rear suspension, Pirelli tyres, front and rear disc brakes with two-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and fully digital instrument panel.
