Where the TUV300 proudly crosses the water stream, the Vitara Brezza gives up in front of intimidating waves.
SUVs in India have gained huge popularity over the past few years which is increasing by the day. Gone are those days when people would just glide peacefully along the highways. Now, most car enthusiasts love adventure and like their drives to be as daunting as possible. Among the various SUV options available in India, highly admired and bought are the Mahindra TUV300 and Maruti Vitara Brezza. Both the cars are efficient in their own way and are built to tackle almost whatever is thrown at them. A new video being viral on YouTube shows a comparison of these cars in real world conditions. What we get to see in the TUV300 vs Brezza video is pretty interesting.
In the video, it appears that both the cars have been brought in a hilly region where they come across a heavily flowing stream of water which seems quite tough to get past. The Mahindra TUV300 takes the initiative and advances towards the water. The 230 Nm torque, 2680 mm wheelbase and most importantly rear-wheel drive of the TUV300 helps it get pass through the menacing water stream effortlessly. The scenario clearly shows Mahindra’s prowess of building highly robust and muscular SUVs at their core, thanks to the vehicle being underpinned by a ladder frame.
After the Mahindra TUV300, its the Vitara Brezza’s turn to conquer the river and show its strength. The Vitara Breazza plunges into the water and get stuck with only the front two tyres being drowned. The driver keeps revving the engine hard, splashing water below its aftermarket low profile tyres but the car strictly refuses to advance. After a while when bystanders observe that the Brezza won’t make it alone, four men get down into the water to push the car. The applied pressure slowly makes it move and the Brezza scrambles out of the river.
Mahindra and Maruti excel in different aspects. Where the former is known to make tough and versatile vehicles, the latter has made an image of yielding reliable and maintenance friendly cars. However. an SUV is imposed with the duty of dodging the worst of terrains but the Maruti Vitara Brezza being a front-wheel drive car with a monocoque chassis, isn’t really a vehicle for off-road duties.
