The asking price of the Triumph Trident 660 has been leaked ahead of its launch in India and by the looks of it, the motorcycle will be priced from Rs. 6.95 lakhs (ex-showroom).
This will make the Trident 660 the most affordable product from the brand when it eventually goes on sale in the nation, undercutting the Street Twin, which costs from Rs. 7.45 lakhs (ex-showroom), by a fair margin.
Possibly leaked while Triumph was testing its website and taken down since, the asking price also puts it on a par with the Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark and above the Kawasaki Z650.
Revealed in October last year, bookings for the 3-cylinder bike commenced in November 2020 here. The token amount is Rs. 50,000/-.
To be assembled locally, the motorcycle will come with a choice of 4 colours at the time of launch and they are – Crystal White, Matt Jet Black and Silver Ice, Sapphire Black and Silver Ice Diablo Red.
Built on a new tubular chassis, the Trident 660 has a 660cc 3-cylinder engine which makes 81 PS peak power at 10,250 RPM and 64 Nm maximum torque at 6250 RPM. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.
The middleweight 2-wheeler comes with adjustable Showa suspension, lightweight 17-inch aluminium wheels, has all-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, 2 ride modes, switchable traction control and only weighs 189 kg (wet).
Of course, customers can easily bloat the Triumph Trident 660 price tag by diving into the accessories that the brand will offer for the motorcycle right from the time of its launch, which is likely to happen next month.
