The iconic British motorcycle maker, Triumph which made its foray into India recently has announced its plan of launching the Daytona 675 in the Indian market this year. The Daytona 675 was brought into the global market as a replacement for the Daytona 650. The Daytona 675 is powered by a liquid cooled 3 cylinder 675cc engine that produces 124 BHP of power at 12,600 RPM and a torque of 72 Nm at 11,700 RPM. Fuel delivery into the engine is done through a multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection with forced air circulation. The engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox and has a Aluminium beam twin spar backbone.
At the front, the Daytona 675 gets Öhlins 43mm upside down NIX30 forks with adjustable preload, rebound and compression damping while at the rear Öhlins TTX36 twin tube monoshock with piggy back reservoir, adjustable, rebound and compression damping does the duty. Wheel travel is limited to 110mm at the front and 130mm at the back. Stopping power is obtained by 308mm twin discs with 4 piston callipers at a single 220mm disc with single piston calliper at the rear. The latest version of this motorcycle with an amazing racing pedigree gets carbon fibre cockpit infill panels, exhaust heat shield, exhaust cap and rear tire hugger. Also the instrument cluster layout has been changed to make it a more race-focused. However, since Triumph doesn’t have a manufacturing/ assembly facility in India at present, this bike is not going to come cheap.
