The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 teaser images showcase the motorcycle’s new semi-fairing
Triumph has released a couple of teaser images of the Tiger Sport 660 ahead of the sport tourer’s official unveil scheduled to take place on 5th October.
The British bike manufacturer had released a few images of the model’s camouflaged test mule around this time last month and now the production-spec vehicle has been teased.
One teaser image of the Tiger Sport 660 shows its front end in full. There is a semi-fairing with a fairly large flyscreen (looks to be adjustable), a pair of LED headlights with DRLs, and a restyled mudguard.
The other image only shows the radiator side cover with the words ‘Tiger Sport’ written on it. Above the panels sit the indicators and the engine, which has been borrowed from the Trident 660, can be seen in the background.
Previous test mules have shown that other parts of the Tiger Sport 660, like the fuel tank, side panels (or the lack of them), the tail have all been tweaked a bit to give the middleweight sports tourer its own identity.
Overall styling of the motorcycle, which will also have a restyled instrument cluster that integrates the Trident’s circular unit in a different housing, looks more Italian than British, which is no bad thing.
Powering the Triumph Tiger Sport 660, teaser images of which have given enough information, will be the 660cc 3-cylinder unit that is found in the Trident.
The motor should continue to make 80 BHP and 64 Nm of torque. It is not known if the 6-speed transmission will have revised ratios, but it is likely.
What is known however is that the new motorcycle has the same frame, wheels and brakes as the Trident 660. It could however, have differently tuned suspension to suit its touring demeanour.
More information about the motorcycle will be revealed during its official unveil and like the Trident, the bike will be introduced in India as well.
