The Triumph Street Triple RS has been launched in India, priced at Rs. 10.55 lakhs.
Triumph has launched the top of the line RS variant of the Street Triple in India which comes priced at Rs. 10.55 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The British bikemaker had launched the Street Triple S variant in July, earlier this year. This middle-weight bike is brought down via the CKD route and the first batch is already sold out!
The Street Triple RS comes across as a more specced bike with a host of rider-focused electronic aids. Starting with the looks of the bike, it gets RS decals on the tank cowls and windscreen. The bike also gets reflective rim tapes on the wheels, an engine cowl and the frame under the seat of the RS comes finished in silver while the S gets a black finished frame. These are the only differentiators between the S and the RS.
Though the engine is same between the two variants, the RS is the range-topper for a reason. The Street Triple RS comes powered by the same 765cc, in-line 3-cylinder motor as in the Street Triple S but produces 121 HP (10 HP more than the S) and 77 Nm of torque. The motor comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox with quick-shifter which allows for clutch-less upshifts.
The Street Triple S gets a fully adjustable Showa 41 mm up-side down forks up front and an Ohlins monoshock at the rear (fully adjustable, again). There is also a 5-inch full-colour TFT instrument panel and a choice of different riding modes – Road, Rain, Sport and Rider. The bike comes equipped with twin 310 mm floating discs up front and a 220 mm single disc brake at the rear. ABS and Traction Control are standard on the bike and switchable too.
