Triumph Scrambler 400 XC Spotted Testing, Will Be More Expensive Than The Standard 400 X

Triumph has been spotted testing the 400 XC ahead of its launch. The 400 XC will be a brand-new variant positioned above the standard model. The test mule was in sans camouflage, so it was difficult to understand the true depth of changes made to the platform.

Design

The most noticeable highlight of the Scrambler 400 XC is the tubeless cross-spoke wheels. They look ready for off-road with their aesthetic, and are easier when dealing with punctures. The wheel sizes are expected to remain unchanged, with 19-inch and 17-inch wheels used in the front and rear, respectively.

There are other highlights such as new colours, off-road spec metal guard, and a body coloured high-set mudguard visor. It is safe to assume that the following parts will be standard. Additionally, amongst the new colour shades, the bright yellow paint scheme with speed block graphics is also expected to be showcased officially.

Engine

The Scrambler 400 XC will be powered by the same 398cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 39.5 HP and 37.5 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The outgoing Scrambler 400 X gets off-road mode with switchable ABS and traction control. It is expected that Triumph will offer a quickshifter on the Scrambler 400 XC, which will make the riding experience easier on and off the tarmac.

Expected Price

The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is expected to be Rs. 15,000/- more than the outgoing model. The Triumph Scrambler 400 X is priced from Rs. 2.66 lakh (ex-showroom), which can make the XC an appealing proposition.
