Triumph launched 10 products in India on the 25th of November but the company’s first showroom in the country has opened just today. The first Triumph showroom in India is located at St. Marks Road in Bangalore and the dealership’s name is Keerthi Motors. Triumph has high standards for dealerships and thus the Bangalore showroom features Triumph Motorcycles’ global signature layout comprising of a display area, consultation lounge, sales and after sales desks. The dealership also sells official Triumph merchandise which includes accessories, riding gear and memorabilia.
Triumph’s Bangalore dealership has the after-sales service integrated to the showroom and features service bays and a spare parts inventory. Keerthi Motors also has ‘Build your own Bike’ feature where in you can customise your Triumph bike. The British brand has extensively trained everyone to meet the company’s global standards while service engineers were sent to Hinckley in the UK for training. Triumph is not here to just sell motorcycles, it wants to give bikers a complete experience right from purchase, upkeep to customisation.
The high-end bike market is seeing tremendous growth and there is lots still to come. While Harley-Davidson is the leader in this space, selling 3000 bikes a year and having 13 dealerships, Kawasaki is hell bent on grabbing 20% market share this year by selling 1500 bikes (it currently has 2 exclusive showrooms with multiple stores for its CKD models). Triumph with just one dealership currently won’t be in a position to make a great impact even though the company has an array of models on offer with quite a few being locally assembled. Triumph will soon open dealerships in Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune.
