Triumph Motorcycles has finally inaugurated their first Mumbai dealership on 3rd May. The company entered India on 28th November 2013 and launched 10 of its products here following which the Daytona 675 was launched at the 2014 Auto Expo. Triumph has already started its dealerships in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Pune and Ahmedabad. The new dealership in Mumbai is owned by the Shaman Group which also has Mercedes, Honda and Volkswagen dealerships in the city. The manufacturer had set a target of selling 500 units in the first 8 months of operations and they already crossed 350 units within the first 5 months.
The Mumbai dealership features a design that conforms to the company’s global standards. The after-sales service area is integrated with the showroom along with a spare parts inventory. The dealership also has a ‘Build Your Bike’ section as well as a section that offers riding gear and accessories to enthusiasts. There are absolutely no restrictions to who can enter the showroom to check out the bikes on display. Triumph fans are allowed to just come and look at the bikes even if there are no intentions of buying.
The company is offering a 2-year warranty on all of its bikes and there will be a 24×7 roadside assistance service up to a maximum distance of 200 kms from the service station. Triumph Motorcycles has also tied up with Castrol which will supply the engine oil to be used on the bikes. The company has also entered into an agreement with HDFC bank to offer attractive finance options to buyers. Officials from Triumph feel that the premium bike segment is finally picking up in India and they are extremely confident of their sub Rs. 7 lakh products. The company also displayed a video at the press conference that showed all its ups and downs.
