Triumph Daytona 660 to get its engine from Trident 660, India bound
Triumph Motorcycles has teased a new sport tourer which seems like the new Triumph Daytona 660. The upcoming motorcycle will make its world premiere on 9th January, 2024 at 5:30 PM IST.
In the teaser images we can see the performance-oriented bike with dual LED headlight cluster, sporty stance and engine cover with 660 lettering on it. We believe it will share its engine with the Triumph Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660.
Both the 660 siblings are powered by a 660cc, 3-cylinder motor that makes 80 BHP at 10,250 RPM and 64 Nm of torque at 6250 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. We believe the Daytona 660 will come with similar power and torque figures but tuned to offer sharper performance to suit its character.
While the Daytona nameplate is hopefully back with this motorcycle, there are enthusiasts who are still waiting for the Daytona 765 to be relaunched. The bike has a huge fan following! Maybe that’s the reason why Triumph has left a note in the teaser caption saying “THE RULES ARE ABOUT TO CHANGE” in uppercase.
Test mules of the bike were spotted multiple times in the international market. The riding posture seemed to be sporty but not too committed. A lot of elements were shared with the existing 660 Triumph bikes.
We believe it will be launched in India soon after its global debut and will be priced around Rs. 9.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). What are your thoughts on the new Triumph Daytona?
