Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster has been launched in India with a sticker price of Rs. 11.11 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Bonneville Speedmaster is the latest addition to the Triumph’s modern classic line-up and is also the company’s first motorcycle launch for the year 2018, in India.
The Speedmaster shares most of its components with the Bobber including the chassis, engine, suspension, swingarm and exhaust but gets different riding dynamics and a few tweaks to the looks as well. For starters, there is an all-LED lighting and a pillion seat with a chrome grab rail. The handlebar on the Speedmaster is wider and is slightly closer towards the rider. Other electronic aids offered in the motorcycle are cruise control, ABS, two riding modes (rain and road) and switchable traction control.
Powering the Bonneville Speedmaster is the same 1200cc high-torque parallel-twin motor that also does duty in the Bobber. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the powertrain produces 77 PS of power at 6100 RPM and 106 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM. Suspension duties are via 41 mm KYB forks up front and a KYB monoshock at the rear. Twin 310 mm discs up front and a single 255 mm disc take care of anchorage.
