The iconic British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has very recently announced that they are going to make an official entry into the Indian market in the year 2012. Fresh off this news, the company has revealed its expected product line up for all the excited customers and bike enthusiasts of India. The company is looking forward to bring 7 models initially to India and it will be across its 4 model families: Roadster/Supersports, Adventure/Touring, Modern Classics and Cruisers. The first model to hit the shores will be Bonneville which is a modern interpretation of the British parallel twin. This will be followed by 2 naked style sport bikes and the Speed Triple. Following this will be the Tiger 800XC (an off-roader) and the Daytona 675. The last of the lot will be 2 cruisers, the Triumph Storm and the Rocket III.
“We deliberated over the range of bikes to bring into India and decided to bring in these models to showcase the Triumph range.” Mr. Ashish Joshi, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India, said.
Mr. Joshi further went to add on the occasion of the revelation of the model line-up that the company’s strategy for the Indian market is going to be well phased out. Initially the bikes will be sold in India by CKD assembly which will help in passing on the duty savings to the customers. This will also help the company in gaining advantage on the price front. Triumph is due to showcase its complete India bound model line-up at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo to be held in the month of January. So stay tuned for more updates.
