Official interior images of the Toyota Urban Cruiser compact SUV have been released exactly one week after the brochure was leaked online.
As we had reported earlier, the car, dubbed by the Japanese automaker as its youngest urban SUV, gets a dual-tone interior with brown upholstery and black plastic trim.
Toyota claims the cabin assures comfort for all occupants and has also added its badge on the steering wheel. Other than these things, no other changes have been made to the car which is essentially a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
The Smart Playcast touchscreen infotainment system (Maruti calls it the SmartPlay Studio) with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and smartphone-based navigation takes the centre stage on the dash which is well thought out.
Other key features that Toyota Urban Cruiser interior images reveal include engine start/stop button, automatic AC, both of which are standard across all variants, electrochromic rear-view mirror, cruise control, among others.
Powering the car would be a K-Series 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that does duty in Maruti cars and it will be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission based on the customer’s choice.
Further, automatic gearbox variants will be equipped with a Li-Ion battery coupled to an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that will provide torque assist, regenerative braking and idle start/stop functions.
Bookings for the Toyota Urban Cruiser are open and customers can book the car for a token amount of Rs. 11,000/- either online or at a Toyota dealership.
