The Toyota Urban Cruiser brochure has been leaked online ahead of the car’s launch, revealing key product details. It was only yesterday that the Japanese carmaker announced about the commencement of bookings for the car from 22nd August.
This brochure leak confirms what we knew about the car so far and provides additional information. Let us take a more detailed look at it.
Exterior-wise, the car will get features such as 2-slat grille, dual chamber LED projector headlights with dual function LED DRLs (they also double up as indicators), circular LED fog lamps in a trapezoidal housing, split LED tail lamps and LED stop light mounted with the rear spoiler.
Six colour options are available with the car, they are – Groovy Orange, Iconic Grey, Rustic Brown, Suave Silver, Spunky Blue and Sunny White. Three dual-tone paint scheme options are also available, and they include – Groovy Orange with Sunny White roof, Rustic Brown with Sizzling Black roof, and Spunky Blue with Sizzling Black roof. The 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels complete the exterior changes.
Moving on, the interior of the car, as seen in the Toyota Urban Cruiser brochure, comes in a brown and black theme, which might not be to everybody’s tastes and it might look drab, especially when coupled with the brown exterior colour. One other change is the Toyota logo on the steering wheel.
Although the car carries forward the design of its sister car, the Vitara Brezza, the equipment list will be revised, with more toys offered as standard, including the automatic climate control.
Other features that will be on the car include Smart Playcast touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and smartphone enabled navigation, engine start/stop button, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control and electrochromic rear-view mirror.
A sole engine, K-Series 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol, will do duty on the car and will be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed auto. Tick the latter option and you will get an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) for added efficiency.
Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensor, front passenger seatbelt warning and a speed alert system. The car’s launch is expected to happen next month, with 22nd September being the proposed date.
