Toyota has revealed their new MPV that looks sporty and premium.
At the first glance, the Toyota Sienna looks like a Lexus. Yes, that’s because the design language is inspired by their premium brand. Toyota claims it takes inspiration from the Shinkansen Japanese bullet train.
Based on the latest Camry’s platform, the Sienna has some aggressive styling. The huge grille dominates the front profile. The headlights look sleek integrated well with the nose.
The side profile angle makes it look quite a lengthy MPV. Even the rear profile resembles the Lexus NX300h. It has a sporty looking tail section which is usually not the case with MPVs.
The interior is unlike any Toyota. The styling looks upmarket with a layered dashboard. They have used light colour tones for airy feel inside the cabin.
There is a new steering wheel design, looks premium. Toyota is offering 9-inch touch-screen infotainment system with 360 degree camera. It gets a 1200 watt, 12 speaker JBL audio system.
The MPV will also come with head-up display, power sliding doors, voice-amplification system, 4-zone climate control, on-board vacuum cleaner and refrigerator compartment.
Safety features include automated emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, etc. It is available in 7 and 8-seater configurations.
The Toyota Sienna is powered by a 2.5-litre hybrid petrol motor paired with two electric motors. This setup churns out a combined power output of 243 HP.
The MPV is developed, engineered and designed in the USA. It is unlikely to be offered in India anytime soon. However, we hope Toyota considers bringing the Sienna to India.
It will bridge the gap between Innova Crysta and Vellfire and compete directly against the Kia Carnival MPV.
