Toyota Showcases Future Corolla With Furia Concept

Toyota has finally taken a few steps forward on their high selling sedan Corolla and plan to give it the ultimate makeover it deserves. The Japanese car maker showcased the 2013 Corolla Furia Concept, a potential future design of the Corolla at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. The Furia concept hints at the stylish new look the future Corolla would possess built towards Toyota’s product development priority to develop more dramatic and expressively designed vehicles.

The Toyota Corolla Furia Concept is based around the theme ‘Iconic Dynamism’ featuring the use of pure and simple surface elements to produce the result of a striking, recognizable design. The front of the Furia could fool the normal eye for a Honda Civic but it does have it’s own design elements. The grin on the face extends to the sleek headlights and the vertical marker lights add to the sheen. The front fascia, in all, looks quite aggressive with the blacked-out treatment done to the airdam.

The rear end of the car has a few flow lines worth a mention. The arrow shaped tail-lights, integrated spoiler and dual exhausts instill a sporty appearance to the Furia. Basically conveying a sense of motion even when the car is stationary, the Furia concept design includes a sloping roofline, followed by a swept windshield and prominent wheel arches. The Furia Concept has a slightly longer wheelbase compared to the current Corolla while it also sits a tad lower and sports 19-inch wheels.

The Toyota Corolla Furia Concept should definitely prove to be the much required sleek, modern and technologically advanced design makeover that the Corolla will carry in the future with utmost confidence. The next generation Corolla is due in 2014 and is will hit our shores in the same year.
