The Japanese auto giant, Toyota Motor Corporation has revealed the face-lifted version of its luxury SUV, the Land Cruiser in the Japanese market. It is called the Land Cruiser 200 or V8 in Japan and is not be mixed up with its smaller sibling, the Land Cruiser Prado and it is expected that Toyota will be carrying over the same changes that have been made to the global variant of it also. According to the pictures revealed, many changes made can be clearly spotted. The front bumper design has been changed to give it a boxier look with newly designed fog lamps. The headlamps have also received some design changes to make it more masculine looking. The headlamps also incorporate integrated LED strips on its lower side. The front grille has been re-designed with more touch of chrome to give the upmarket feel.
The exterior rear view mirrors get integrated turn signals while the alloys have been newly designed in 18 and 20 inches. On the interior, the main changes include usage of different trim materials, and addition to some graphics on the instrument panel. An improved TFT display for information sits between the two large dials of speedometer and tachometer. In Japan, Toyota will be offering the Land Cruiser with the existing 4.6 litre V8 engine that produces 318 PS of power at 5600 RPM and 460 Nm of torque at 3400 RPM. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission system and features all wheel drive for power delivery to the wheels. Features like ABS and Traction control are standard however, Toyota has tweaked the Multi-Terrain Select system which lets you change the settings of the ABS and traction control according to different road profiles. It also features “Crawl Control”, a feature very similar to cruise control that allows you to drive in slow speeds at a steady pace during off roading.
