Toyota plans to launch multiple cars including rebadged Fronx & Ertiga during the festive season
Toyota plans to launch three new models including rebadged Maruti Fronx and Ertiga. They are also preparing to introduce the new generation Vellfire in India this year itself.
The first model to hit the market will be the Rumion, a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The Rumion will sport some unique styling changes, including a redesigned bumper, Innova Crysta-inspired grille and new alloy wheels.
The interior will feature a blacked-out dashboard with wood-like inserts and black upholstery. The Rumion will retain the Ertiga’s 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 103 HP and 137 Nm of torque, available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
Additionally, the Rumion will be offered with the convenience of a factory-fitted CNG kit for those who have high running and the fleet operators as well.
Toyota will also introduce the rebadged Maruti Fronx.It is expected to receive some minor cosmetic updates including new grille design and revised bumper design along with some new colour options. Inside, the dashboard will likely remain unchanged except for the new colour trims and upholstery.
The Fronx is expected to come with both a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated K-Series petrol engine and the new 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine.
Toyota is also bringing the new generation Vellfire to India. It was recently launched in the international market and will be imported directly as a CBU to India. Indian buyers can expect the Executive Lounge package, which features premium individual captain chairs for the second row, complete with retractable tables, ventilation and ottoman leg rests.
The Vellfire is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid engine, delivering a combined power output of 250 HP mated to an e-CVT transmission. Expect them to price it around Rs. 1 crore (ex-showroom).
