Toyota has launched the new Prius in India, which is the third generation model of the hybrid sedan. The Prius is known for its battery technology but will now also feature solar ventilation system. The new Prius is prices start at Rs. 27.39 lakh, going all the way to Rs. 29.41 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Power comes in through a 1.8-liter petrol motor which produces 98 BHP of power and 140 Nm of torque. The electric motor produces 80 BHP of power and is setup in a hybrid series. The hybrid car is available on order at Toyota dealerships throughout the country. Till date Toyota has sold 24 lakh units of the car since its introduction in 1997, with only 150 units coming from the Indian market in 2011.
