Toyota has launched a limited edition of the Innova in both 7 and 8-seater models. The Innova Aero Edition is available in both Euro III and Euro IV options and is limited to 1200 units. The Aero Edition is based on the GX variant and comes in two colors namely Super White and Silver Metallic. The Toyota Innova Aero Edition is priced at Rs. 12.26 lakhs and Rs. 12.30 lakhs for the 7 and 8-seater variants respectively. The regular Innova GX is priced at Rs. 11.85 lakhs and Rs. 11.90 lakhs for the 7 and 8-seater models (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
For the extra Rs. 40,000/- you pay for the Innova Aero Edition, you get dual tone front and rear bumper spoiler, side skits, rear roof spoiler and Aero emblem. These enhancements in no way contribute to the performance of the Toyota Innova and are mere add-ons for enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the MPV. Toyota could have launched the Innova Aero Edition to create some buzz post the launch of the Nissan Evalia, which undercuts the Innova’s pricing by a significant amount.
Toyota launched the Innova way back in 2005 and hasn’t made any mechanical changes to the car since then (except the addition of an inter-cooler on the 2.5-litre diesel engine). The Innova hasn’t faced any real competition till date with the Evalia being the closest competition to Toyota’s best selling car in India. The Japanese automaker sells close to 6500 units every month, putting the Innova in the top 15 best selling car list every month.
If you are not impressed by the Innova Aero Edition, you can also procure Toyota genuine accessories at the dealer level. Prices of the same are given below –
