Toyota Land Cruiser 70 3-door looks like a grown up’s toy with its small footprint
Toyota has recently introduced the latest updated of the iconic Land Cruiser 70 Series, a model that has maintained its production streak since 1984. The new update preserves the classic styling while incorporating modern technology, making it a desirable option for off-road enthusiasts.
The 2024 update brings new styling elements to the Land Cruiser 70 Series, including round LED headlights, protruding indicators, a chrome-infused bumper, and blocked tail lights. These design cues pay homage to the original, resulting in a timeless look that resonates with the vehicle’s rugged heritage.
The three-door variant, available in the UAE, holds a distinct appeal for off-road enthusiasts due to its compact size. Measuring 4235 mm in length, it is 640 mm shorter than its five-door counterpart, making it a nimble option for navigating challenging terrains. Despite its smaller size, the three-door model boasts a robust ladder-frame construction.
Inside, the Land Cruiser 70 Series features Nubuck and Synthetic Leather upholstery, a 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and electric windows.
The safety kit has been upgraded with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Lane Departure Assist and a Pre-Collision System. However, it’s worth noting that there are only two front airbags in total.
Unlike the Japanese market, where the Land Cruiser 70 Series is exclusively available with turbodiesel engines, buyers in the UAE have access to a single petrol engine option. The 4.0-litre V6 engine produces 228 HP and 360 Nm of torque, delivering power to all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic gearbox and a 4WD system.
In the United Arab Emirates, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series Hardtop 3-Door is available in a single trim, starting at AED 169,900 (Rs. 38.55 lakhs). This positions it as a compelling option for those seeking the Land Cruiser’s legendary off-road capabilities in a more compact form. Pricing for the five-door version starts slightly higher at AED 179,900 (Rs. 40.82 lakhs).
