Toyota has launched the Innova Touring Sport, prices start at Rs. 17.79 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Launched in May 2016, the Toyota Innova Crysta has been on a roll since then. Toyota managed to give the Innova a proper makeover and bring it in as the Innova Crysta, and after almost a year, Toyota brings in this sportier version of the Innova, titled Innova Touring Sport.
In terms of looks, the Innova Touring Sport gets SUV-ish styling. There’s an all-black front grille with smoked chrome finishing. There’s smoked chrome on the headlamp as well as the fog lamp bezel. The skid plates too get a garnish of chrome. At the side, one can notice the black cladding on the wheel arches and the new matte black 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, there is a red spoiler and a black rear door garnish that replaces the chrome.
The interiors too have gone through a minor rejig. The steering wheel, leather seats, console box and the gear shift lever are stitched in red. There’s black wood on the steering wheel now. There’s a unique red wood pattern on the instrument panel and there’s red illumination on the large TFT Multi-Information Display.
The Innova Touring Sport will come with the same engine options as the Innova Crysta. There’s a 2.4-litre diesel engine with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 2.8-litre oil-burner with a 6-speed automatic transmission. For the petrol trims, there is a 2.7-litre engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 5-speed manual transmission. The 2.7-litre petrol makes 164 HP of power and 245 Nm of torque, while the 2.4-litre diesel makes 148 HP of power and 343 Nm of torque. The top of the line 2.8-litre diesel makes 172 HP of power and 360 Nm of torque.
