Toyota has reopened bookings for the range topping models of Innova HyCross
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced the re-opening of bookings for the top-end variants of the Innova HyCross, specifically the ZX and ZX (O) models, effective 1st August, 2024. This move comes after a temporary suspension of bookings for these models due to high demand since the vehicle’s launch in November 2022, according to the Japanese carmaker.
The Innova HyCross is available in two variants: a self-charging strong hybrid electric variant and a petrol variant. During the temporary halt of bookings for the top-end models, TKM continued accepting orders for lower grades of the Innova HyCross. With the supply chain now streamlined and enhanced, the company has been able to reduce the waiting period for these high-demand models, leading to the resumption of bookings.
Around 50 percent of sales of the Innova HyCross comes from the strong hybrid variant. The Japanese carmaker has increased the capacity with the majority of production allotted to the strong hybrid variants.
In a statement from the company’s Vice President of Sales, Service, and Used Car Business, Mr. Sabari Manohar, TKM expressed gratitude for the customers’ patience during the booking suspension. The company acknowledged the strong customer acceptance of the Innova HyCross and reiterated its commitment to offering diverse product choices that meet customer desires.
The Innova HyCross is powered by a 2.0-litre strong hybrid powertrain that produces 184 HP and 206 Nm paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The non-hybrid version features a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 173 HP and 209 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT automatic transmission.
The MPV competes with the likes of Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.
