Toyota Innova HyCross petrol to get new GX (O) trim offering more features
Toyota is expanding its lineup of the Innova Hycross with the introduction of a new top-end variant, the GX (O). This variant, set to be available for the non-hybrid version of the MPV, is positioned to offer enhanced features and options.
The GX (O) variant will be positioned above the GX variant and will come in both seven- and eight-seat configurations, providing flexibility to accommodate varying passenger requirements. Toyota has equipped this variant with a host of additional features compared to the GX model.
Among the notable enhancements are LED front fog lamps, rear window demister, automatic climate control, rear automatic blower control, dual-tone seats and a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay integration on the seven-seater version. Additionally, the GX (O) variant will boast a rear retractable sunshade (exclusive to the seven-seater configuration), 360-degree camera and front parking sensors.
Under the hood, the Innova Hycross GX (O) will be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine generating 173 HP and 209 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT automatic gearbox delivering power to the front wheels. While the hybrid variants of the Innova Hycross offer an alternative with a petrol-hybrid engine producing 184 HP and high fuel efficiency, the GX (O) variant focuses on delivering a dynamic driving experience with its petrol powertrain.
As for pricing, Toyota has yet to disclose the exact figures for the Innova Hycross petrol GX (O) variant. However, considering the added features compared to the GX model, a modest premium of around Rs. 70,000/- is anticipated. Meanwhile, the hybrid variants of the Innova Hycross are priced between Rs. 25.72 lakhs and Rs. 30.68 lakhs.
While the Innova Hycross does not have a direct competitor, it faces competition from three-row SUVs such as the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus.
