Toyota will be unveiling three new Innova Crysta petrol variants to add to its diesel counterparts. All the three models will have the same engine with a few significant differences inside and outside the vehicle.
The Toyota Innova Crysta has its petrol models lined up for release now, after the announcement was made in February. Toyota launched the Innova Crysta in May and now the Japanese automaker has revealed details about the new petrol version and the variants it will offer on release. The new variants include the Toyota Innova Crysta petrol G, Toyota Innova Crysta petrol V and Toyota Innova Crysta petrol Z.
The engine specifications for the new petrol variant of the Innova Crysta are quite similar to the one that was found on the previous generation vehicle in the Middle East market. The new revised engine, coded as the 2TR-FE, is a 2.7-litre, 4-cylinder motor that produces 166 HP of power and 245 Nm of torque. This slightly improved motor comes equipped with the new Dual-VVTi tech from Toyota.
The dimensions of the vehicle remain unchanged. The gearbox options are 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmissions for specific variants. A double wishbone with torsion bar/ 4-link with coil springs will be the suspension options available for the variants. The front and rear brakes are disc and drum respectively. Fuel tank capacity will be the same at 65-litres.
There will be a lot of customers queuing up outside Toyota dealers, for the booking has started at Rs.1 lakh and the vehicles will be on roads as early as August 2016. Petrol variants are at a price difference of Rs. 60,000/- less than the existing diesel variants as reported. The current Toyota Innova Crysta lineup starts at Rs.14.85 lakhs and goes up till Rs.20.93 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
