Toyota Innova Crysta GX+ variant available in both 7 and 8 seater versions
Toyota Innova Crysta GX+ variant launched, priced at Rs. 21.39 lakhs for the 7-seater variant and Rs. 21.44 lakhs for the 8-seater variant (all prices, ex-showroom). With the launch of the new GX+ variant, the Japanese carmaker is aiming to bridge the gap between the existing GX and VX models. The new variant brings a slew of new features while retaining the familiar powertrain setup.
Notable additions include a rear camera, auto-fold mirrors, dash cam, diamond cut alloy wheels, wooden panels and premium fabric seats. According to Toyota, this translates to a total of 14 new features compared to the lower GX variant, enhancing convenience and aesthetics of the MPV.
It retains the same 2.4-litre diesel engine producing 150 HP and 343 Nm torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Toyota doesn’t offer automatic transmission option with the Crysta since the launch of the new generation Innova HyCross. There is no diesel automatic Innova on sale in India.
In terms of pricing, the GX+ variant commands a premium of around Rs. 1.40-1.45 lakhs over the GX trim for the added features and enhancements. The price range of Toyota Innova Crysta spans from Rs. 19.99 lakhs to Rs. 26.30 lakhs (ex-showroom).
While the Innova Crysta faces limited direct competition in India, it competes indirectly with models like the Maruti XL6, Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo. Toyota’s established reputation for reliability and resale value coupled with the Innova’s strong brand equity continues to sway buyers in its favour.
