Toyota launches Hilux Black Edition in India with all-black treatment
Toyota has expanded the Hilux lineup in India with the introduction of a new Black Edition, which brings a host of cosmetic enhancements and feature additions. Priced at Rs. 37.90 lakhs (ex-showroom), this special edition focuses on a more aggressive, monochrome aesthetic paired with the rugged capabilities the Hilux is known for.
The Black Edition is exclusively offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission and comes equipped with a four-wheel-drive system. The drivetrain includes features like an electronic differential lock, a limited-slip differential and Active Traction Control, enhancing its off-road potential.
On the exterior, the Hilux Black Edition follows an all-black theme, with design elements such as a black front grille, black 18-inch alloy wheels with specially designed hub caps and black-finished ORVMs, door handles, fender garnish and fuel lid garnish. This gives the pickup a more distinctive, stealth-inspired appearance.
Inside the cabin, the Black Edition offers leather upholstery and a range of comfort and convenience features. Key highlights include dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat and an electrochromic rearview mirror. The equipment list also covers a rearview camera, cruise control and other essential features aimed at enhancing both usability and driving comfort.
Under the hood, the Hilux Black Edition is powered by the familiar 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, producing 201 BHP and 500 Nm of peak torque. This engine has already proven its mettle in the standard Hilux, offering a blend of strong performance and reliability suited for both on-road and off-road conditions.
Toyota has commenced bookings for the Hilux Black Edition, with deliveries expected to begin later this month.
