Toyota Glanza recalled over faulty fuel pump motor issue
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has initiated a voluntary recall campaign for a total of 2305 units of the Glanza hatchback, citing potential concerns with the fuel pump motor. The affected models, manufactured between 2nd April and 6th October 2019, are being called back due to a possibility of engine stalling arising from this issue. In response to this discovery, Toyota has assured customers that rectification procedures will be conducted free of charge.
Customers affected by the recall can expect direct communication from the automaker regarding the necessary procedures to rectify the identified issue. Toyota dealer representatives will contact individual customers for necessary campaign procedures.
For more information on the recall, customers can contact the nearest dealership or call the Customer Assistance Centre. You can also check if your vehicle is affected in this recall by entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Toyota’s official website.
Toyota Glanza recalled in this campaign is the previous generation model and not the current one on sale. As we all know, the Glanza is based on the Maruti Baleno and the latter was also recalled recently due to the same issue as both the models were manufactured in the same Maruti Suzuki facility.
Meanwhile, Toyota is preparing to launch the Taisor in India today, which is a rebadged version of the Maruti Fronx. It will get slightly different styling cues with updated soft parts to follow the current design language of Toyota.
It will come with a new grille up front, redesigned LED DRLs and headlights, new bumpers, new alloy wheels and slightly tweaked tail lamps. Expect Toyota to offer unique colour options with the Taisor.
Interior is expected to remain the same except for the colour tones on offer and of course the Toyota logo on the steering wheel. The list of features will be the same as well.
The crossover is expected to come with both 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine along with the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine.
