The Toyota Glanza features minimal changes to its front grille with no other changes to the exterior.
Toyota is all set to launch the Glanza hatchback just in a few weeks from now. Ahead of the launch of the vehicle, images have surfaced of the upcoming vehicle in its production-ready form. The Toyota Glanza images give us more details about the upcoming vehicle. The car will be sold by Toyota from its dealerships and the service and support will also be covered by the company.
From the looks of the vehicle, the rebadged Baleno looks similar, with noticeable differences to the grille. However, there are no other changes to the exterior of the vehicle. The images show the V variant of the Glanza which gets projector headlamps, with the possibility of LED lighting similar to the Baleno. The foglamps are also similar to the Baleno. At the rear of the vehicle, there is nothing which sets the Glanza apart from the Baleno. The Toyota badging is the only noticeable difference with no changes to the taillamps or the bumper. The vehicle spotted is blue in colour while the teaser video showed a red colour Glanza hinting at the availability of the red and blue colour schemes.
The Toyota Glanza is the first vehicle to come out of the Toyota-Suzuki agreement. This will be followed by more cars. It is expected to be offered only with a petrol engine, which could be most likely the 1.2-litre DualJet engine with Smart Hybrid, which has also been introduced on the Baleno recently. The engine is also BS6 ready. The transmission will likely be offered both in manual and CVT (automatic) as well. However, there is no Smart Hybrid badging on the Glanza.
Coming to the features and equipment, both the vehicles will share identical equipment. The images show a reverse parking camera on the V variant of the Glanza which is also found on the top-spec Alpha variant of the Baleno. However, a more detailed list of features will be available when the vehicle is launched. The pricing of the Toyota Glanza will be slightly more than the Baleno. The Delta and Zeta variants of the Baleno with the new 1.2-litre DualJet engine are priced at Rs. 7.25 lakhs and 7.86 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. Expect the Toyota Glanza to be priced above this.
