The Toyota Fortuner GR Sport comes with sportier aesthetics
Toyota has introduced the Fortuner GR Sport in Indonesia which is a sporty-looking variant that replaces the TRD Sportivo trim.
Sporting a revised radiator grille, mildly restyled LED headlamps, new bumpers at the front and the rear, the new variant of the SUV also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and of course, there are GR Sport badges too.
Inside, the dashboard remains the same and so do the features. However, Toyota has fitted a new rear-seat entertainment system to the Fortuner GR Sport along with ambient lights.
Some of the features the SUV comes with include a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, auto-dimming IRVM, dual zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, powered tailgate, 360-degree surround monitor, among others.
This particular variant of the SUV comes powered by either a 2.7-litre petrol engine (163 PS and 242 Nm) or a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel (150 PS and 400 Nm). A 6-speed automatic gearbox transfers the power to the rear wheels.
It is not known if Toyota plans to sell the GR Sport variant of the Fortuner in India. But, there is a high possibility of that happening since the brand did retail the TRD Sportivo trim here.
If the new variant of the SUV with sporty looks does indeed come to India, expect Toyota to ask the same amount of cash as the Legender (Rs. 38.30 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi) for it.
