Exclusive: Toyota Fortuner GR Sport Spotted At A Dealership In India

The GR Sport’s body-coloured tail gate strip and edition badge can be seen

The Toyota Fortuner GR Sport might be launched here soon, spotted uncamouflaged at a dealership

Out of nowhere, Toyota Fortuner GR Sport has been spotted at a dealership in India. The picture was been clicked and sent by MotorBeamer Tanmay Shridhar Bhagat. Going by the car wearing no camouflage, it might be inching closer towards a launch here.

The Toyota Fortuner GR Sport is a sporty edition of the regular Fortuner wearing many aggressive cosmetic bits. Unlike the Fortuner Legender edition currently on sale in India, the GR Sport gets prominent piano black finish at many places on the exterior.

The front gets the maximum updates

At the front, the fog lamps get large piano black inserts intersected by a white panel. The Legender edition, on the other hand, only gets tiny black inserts in the said area. The front skid plate is again finished in piano black unlike the Legender which gets brushed silver finish.

While the Legender Edition gets dual-tone OVRMs, the GR Sport features all-black units. The alloy wheels are also finished in piano black to render the SUV a sporty look.

The sportiness accentuates to the interior as well with an all-black theme

There are only subtle changes at the rear with the GR Sport getting body-coloured tailgate strip with Fortuner name embossed on it. There’s also the edition badge on the right side. The L-shaped bumper inserts have been retained from the Legender.

Other than these, there are not many changes to the exterior. The sportiness accentuates to the interior as well with an all-black theme. The suede and leather seats are complemented by smoked silver metallic and matte carbon finishes on the instrument panel and center console.

The Fortuner GR Sport shares its powertrain with the existing Fortuner. There might be just 1 variant on offer – a 2.8-litre diesel automatic with a 4-wheel drive system.

The Legender with the same powertrain now commands an ex-showroom price of Rs 53.04 lakhs. So, we can expect the GR Sport to have a similar price tag.
