A facelifted version of the Toyota Etios has been caught on test and the vehicle features tweaked exteriors and revised interiors.
Toyota launched the Etios in India way back in 2010 and the vehicle has received quite a few upgrades over the past few years. The Etios also got a significant facelift in 2014 where the exteriors and interiors of the car were given revisions. Now it seems that Toyota is gearing up to give the Etios another update.
The Toyota Etios facelift has been caught undergoing testing and as seen in the pictures, the vehicle’s bumpers, grille, steering wheel, etc. are covered in camouflage. Both the bumpers are likely to get a revised design while the grille is also redesigned. The boot lid comes with a chrome strip connecting both the tail lights.
Changes to the interior are not very clear. The steering wheel will bear a new design and the upholstery is also new. However, it remains to be seen whether Toyota will upgrade the instrument cluster like the overseas model or continue to offer the same design.
Powertrain options on the facelifted Etios are likely to remain the same. The Toyota Etios is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 90 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque and a 1.4-litre diesel engine producing 68 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. Both the engines are offered with a 5-speed manual transmission. With such minor updates in the facelift, we think the pricing of the sedan will remain more or less the same.
