The Tork T6X electric motorcycle has a bigger chain sprocket at the rear wheel.
There is an all-new motorcycle expected to hit the Indian motorcycle market pretty soon. It is the T6X, a new electric motorcycle from the Pune-based startup, Tork Motors. A test mule of the motorcycle, covered in complete camouflage, has now been spotted on the road, much after it was showcased in concept form in 2016.
The Tork T6X, as seen in the test mule, is built on a trellis frame that has been designed in-house in order to accommodate the battery pack. The frame is short and has a tubular swingarm attached right at the place where the electric motor is present. This allows the motorcycle to have a long swingarm and a low centre of gravity.
For the suspension, there are standard telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear. The electric motor channels power to the rear wheel via a chain-drive setup. However, the sprocket is larger than conventional ICE motorcycles. Disc brakes are provided for both the wheels, along with the inclusion of CBS.
As revealed by Tork earlier, the T6X will be using a 6 kW electric motor and the test mule seems to have the same as well. The engine would be making 27 Nm of torque and would be capable of cruising at a speed of 100 km/hr quite easily.
Further, the Tork T6X will be having a waterproof (IP-rated) battery and will have a riding range of around 100 kms. The company even claims that the battery can be charged up to 80% in just an hour.
This appears to be the near production-spec model and it might be launched by early 2020. The price of the Tork T6X is expected to be around Rs. 1.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
