The much-awaited Tork Kratos launch event will be held this month
Tork Motors is gearing up to launch its electric motorcycle named as Kratos on 26th January, 2022 or India’s Republic Day.
The Pune-based company has been working on its first motorbike for several years now and will equip it with a Lithium-ion battery pack and an ‘Axial Flux’ motor that is claimed to have 96 percent efficiency.
Through a recent blog post, Founder and CEO of Tork Motors, Kapil Shelke had revealed that the aluminium alloy battery pack will provide over 100 km range on a single charge and support fast charges.
Termed the T6X until its official name was revealed recently, the Kratos’ design has evolved over time and it is now a sharp-looking machine with lots of angular surfaces.
It has a slim headlight, a digital instrument cluster, split seat, sharp tail, alloy wheels, telescopic front suspension, monoshock in the back and also a rear tyre hugger.
One has to wait till the Tork Kratos launch to get to know the motorcycle’s specifications as the Indian EV maker remains tight-lipped about it.
Earlier, it was revealed that the T6X will feature a 6 kW (8 BHP) electric motor delivering 27 Nm of torque. The bike was set to be able to hit 100 km/hr tops and cover 100 km on a single charge. The range figure stays the same even now.
The asking price of the electric motorcycle is likely to be over Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom), but the Centre’s Fame 2 subsidy and incentives offered by select State governments should help keep its price under check.
