In June 2021, UV sales grew by 116 percent over the same period last year
UV sales in June 2021 were strong as ever and leading the pack was the Maruti Ertiga with 9920 unit sales.
The Eeco, also from Maruti, came a close second, for it registered sales of 9218 units. Both MPVs witnessed very strong year-on-year (YoY) growth as well.
Mahindra’s Bolero, which topped UV sales in May, came third with 5744 units to its name, followed by the XL6 that found 3978 new buyers last month.
Fifth-placed Toyota Innova Crysta had 2973 unit sales, and the Triber which came next to the Innova in the June 2021 UV sales list added a further 1790 units to its tally.
Kia India managed to find just over 500 takers for its premium MPV, the Carnival this past month, while Mahindra could only retail 402 units of its Marazzo MPV.
The final 2 positions of the UV sales list for June 2021 were occupied by the Toyota Vellfire (63 units) and the Datsun GO+ (12 units).
Only 2 vehicles in the list, the Triber and GO+ could not register sales growth in June. The Renault car lost 13 percent sales YoY, while Datsun product degrew by 76 percent YoY.
In all, the vehicles of the segment registered sales of 34,603 units combined, which is a 116 percent growth over the same period the year before.
