Utility vehicles saw a slight increase in numbers, shown by August 2020 UV sales list, with a couple of Maruti models leading the way.
To be precise the top six spots in the list did not change from last month while the bottom two places were also occupied by the same cars as last month.
By and large, many cars in the list have also seen sales increase over last month, in line with the industry trend. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga tops the chart, having retailed 9302 units in the month of August, a 11 percent growth.
It was followed by the Eeco (9115 units), Mahindra Bolero (5487 units), Renault Triber (3906 units), Toyota Innova Crysta (2943 units) and the Maruti XL6 (1846 units) in the list.
The top four cars were the ones that posted positive growth however, with the Renault Triber growing by 57 percent y-o-y, followed by the Bolero at 37 percent.
Toyota’s Innova Crysta follows the Datsun GO+ in the losers category, with the cars losing out 39 percent and 62 percent sales y-o-y, respectively. Other cars that lost out were Maruti XL6 (-22 percent) and Mahindra Marazzo (-9 percent).
Kia’s Carnival premium MPV sold 198 units to come eighth in the August 2020 UV sales list, while the last two spots were occupied by the Toyota Vellfire and Mahindra Xylo, the latter, not selling any units, while the former found 16 takers.
