The ZS EV did well in June

There is nothing to be surprised about when it comes to SUV sales in June 2021, as the Korean twins, the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, continue to occupy the top 2 positions.

While the Creta recorded sales of 9941 units, the Seltos found 8549 takers during the same period. Third place in the June 2021 SUV sales list was occupied by the Mahindra Scorpio with 4160 unit sales.

The newest entrant to the segment, the Alcazar has managed to find over 3103 takers in June and occupy fourth spot in the sales list.

MG retailed 3002 units of its Hector models last month, and Tata shifted 2041 units of the Harrier and 1730 units of the Safari, followed by Maruti’s S-Cross that found 1441 new homes.

The Jeep Compass recorded sales of 789 units in June 2021 to take ninth place in the SUV sales list, while Mahindra’s soon-to-be discontinued XUV500 garnered 633 unit sales during the same time.

When it comes to electric cars, the MG ZS EV outclassed the Hyundai Kona, for it recorded sales of 250 units, as opposed to just 7 units of the South Korean EV.

Sales of premium SUVs remained a bit muted in June and, like in May, it was the Ford Endeavour (892 units) which took the top spot.

Toyota’s Fortuner came second with 549 unit sales, followed by the Gloster from MG that registered sales of 306 units.

Next up is the Hyundai Tucson (85 units), Citroen C5 Aircross (41 units) and the Alturas G4 from Mahindra, with 16 unit sales, completed the list.
