When it comes to the October 2020 sedan sales, Maruti Suzuki Dzire leads the compact sedan segment.
It managed to garner 17,675 unit sales which was 10 percent lower than sales during the year ago period.
Next comes the Hyundai Aura and Xcent duo (5577 units) followed by the Amaze, 4709 units of which was retailed by Honda.
Tata Tigor (1501 units) and Ford Aspire with 446 unit sales, complete the segment which saw its overall sales increase by seven percent year-over-year (YoY).
Honda City rules the C-segment sedan sales with 4124 units with a very strong 119 percent YoY growth.
In second spot sits the Hyundai Verna with 2166 units and next is the Maruti Ciaz which recorded sales of 1422 units.
Skoda sold 1024 units of the Rapid, with appealing pricing (two lower variants) and the addition of an automatic gearbox helping the sedan well.
However, It was a poor outing for the Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Vento and the two firms will have to ramp up their efforts to see sales pick up well.
Out of 307 units of D-segment sedans sold in October 2020, the Civic contributed a huge chunk, having sold 230 times over.
Hyundai’s Elantra with 46 unit sales and Skoda Octavia with 31 units did not do well, much like the segment, which lost 58 percent of its sales YoY.
Finally in the October 2020 sedan sales, we come to the premium sedans where, once again, the Skoda Superb did better than the Camry, having sold 184 units, to the latter’s 38.
