Ever contracting sedan sales did not mount a strong comeback in November 2020. Even the compact sedan segment witnessed degrowth despite being filled with affordable cars.
Maruti ensured that the Dzire continues to stay on top of the compact sedan pile with 13,536 unit sales. Second-placed Honda Amaze had 4706 unit sales, while Hyundai shifted 3063 units of its Aura from showrooms in the same month.
Tata’s Tigor, with 1259 units to its name, did better than in the same period last year, but the same cannot be said about the Ford Aspire which lost a lot of sales.
Honda’s CIty leads the C-segment sedan sales in November 2020 with 3523 units, beating second-placed Maruti Ciaz (1870) by a decent margin.
The Ciaz was followed closely by the Hyundai Verna which recorded 1487 unit sales, while in the next place sits the Skoda Rapid with 813 units sold in November.
While the Toyota Yaris only managed to find 345 takers last month, its YoY growth was a massive 222 percent and finally, Volkswagen retailed 125 units of the Vento last month.
When it comes to the D-segment sedan sales, the Honda Civic was once again the go-to product for buyers as 143 units of the car got sold this past month.
Next up comes the Hyundai Elantra with 38 units to its name and in last place came the Octavia from Skoda with only 20 units of the model sold last month.
Interestingly, Skoda managed to sell the Superb 10 times more than the Octavia, while the Toyota Camry only managed to add 32 more units to its tally in November.
