Once Honda introduces the refreshed Amaze, it might beat the Tigor

While sedan sales in July 2021 remained muted, the Maruti Dzire was able to retain its position at the top of the pile, having found 10,470 new buyers.

Hyundai’s Aura came second with 4034 unit sales, while the Tata sold 1636 units of the Tigor during the same period.

The Honda Amaze, which is due for a facelift, registered sales of 1134 units, while the Ford Aspire (expected to get a petrol-automatic variant soon) came last with 96 unit sales.

The segment will expand when Skoda and Volkswagen launch their new sedans

Sales of cars in the C-segment sedan class did improve over July last year, but the numbers are not very inspiring. In first place sits the Honda City with 3627 unit sales, followed by the Hyundai Verna, which had a dismal outing in July 2021.

Maruti retailed 1450 units of its Ciaz, while Skoda sold 793 units of the Rapid. Volkswagen’s Vento was driven home by 186 buyers, but only 5 fancied purchasing the Toyota Yaris.
