Scooter sales in September 2020 was almost on a par with sales during the same period a year ago.
Unsurprisingly, the Honda Activa, which led the overall 2-wheeler sales in the country is in the number one spot, with 2,57,900 units having gotten sold in September alone.
Second in the September 2020 scooter sales list is the TVS Jupiter, which sold about 4.6 times less than the Activa, witnessing just over 56,000 unit sales.
In third, fourth and fifth positions sit the Suzuki Access (53,031 units), Honda Dio (33,639) and TVS NTorq with 26,150 units, respectively.
The bottom half of the list is headed by the Hero Pleasure that saw 20,068 units get sold in September.
It is joined by two other Hero products namely Destini 125 and Maestro, which came seventh and ninth, having sold 19,644 and 14,029 times over, respectively.
Two Yamaha products feature in the September 2020 scooter sales list and they are the Ray and Fascino, which occupy eighth (19,540 units) and last place (13,640).
Quite a few scooters, six to be precise, witnessed a year-over-year (YoY) fall in sales figures. Among those that did well, the Destini 125 with 97 percent growth and Ray with 91 percent growth, standout.
Overall sales too dropped by a sliver, but considering the circumstances the country is in, the fact that the top 10 scooters raked close to 4.94 lakh units, is a good achievement in itself.
